Accessibility
Evisions is committed to ensuring that our products and services are accessible to all users. To achieve this, we design and test our products for accessibility against the U.S Rehabilitation Act Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.0 guidelines. Our products’ current levels of conformance under Section 508 are documented in Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) that are available for download on the Support website.
Evisions’ strategy is to ensure that new products and new features added to existing products meet all applicable accessibility standards upon initial release. In addition, maintenance releases of existing software may include updates designed to increase product accessibility. Evisions’ websites, online marketing and training materials, and online help are similarly improved continuously to provide a better experience for all of our users, regardless of ability.
The U.S. Access Board published a refresh of the Section 508 standards in January 2017 (effective January 2018) which replaces many of the product-specific requirements with functional criteria based on the WCAG 2.0 level A and level AA guidelines. Evisions has tested its products against the WCAG 2.0 guidelines and includes these requirements in our accessibility testing. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of Evisions’ products or services please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your feedback is valuable to us and we are always open to exploring new ideas for enhancing the user experience of our products and services.
As a web-based application, the Argos Web Viewer is designed to be accessible using standard web technology.
Accessibility features include:
- Ability to use browser magnification tools to increase size of the display.
- Works with major screen-reading applications. If using JAWS, the recommended browsers are Internet Explorer and Chrome.
- User interface is labeled with ARIA landmarks to facilitate easy navigation to different areas of the screen (JAWS shortcut Insert-Ctrl-R or Caps Lock-Ctrl-R).
- DataBlock designers may work alongside users of Assistive Technology to develop dashboards in such a way that they can easily be read by screen reading or other AT software. Refer to Best Practices for Accessible Form Design in the Argos Help.
Keyboard Navigation
Certain parts of the Web Viewer support Tab navigation, such as the top menu bar and the DataBlock and shortcut lists. Use Tab to jump between items, and the up/down arrow keys to scroll through the DataBlocks and shortcuts. Pressing Enter or Space when a DataBlock, report, or shortcut is selected will launch that item. Some basic navigation is also available using keyboard shortcuts.
If you or your users require assistance relating to accessing any features of the Web Viewer, we would be glad to receive feedback on the accessibility features, and to work with you to make our software as easy to use as possible for all users.
