Argos Options

The Options dialog lets you edit various settings.

This image is the Options dialog which contains General, Startup, Query Desinger, and Security tabs.

It is divided into four tabs:

General

Show background images - Used to hide or display the background image on the main Argos screen, if one has been set by your MAPS administrator.

History count - Sets the number of pages users can return to by using the Back button.

Animations - Controls the display of animations used throughout Argos (ex: expand or collapse explorer tree objects). Enabled by default.

Enable Emoticons - Choose to display emoticons within object note fields.

Styled application - Enables the use of the Argos theme. Unchecking this box will revert many of the interface colors to a standard Windows style. If you are using a "Windows Classic" theme for your OS, this option will be unchecked by default.

Startup

Show the splash screen while loading - Shows or hides the splash screen while Argos is loading.

Query Designer

Sort table fields in dropdown boxes - When checked, dropdown boxes that pull their data from a database will sort in alphabetical order, instead of the order of the fields in the database.

Use Data Dictionary - Enables use of the Data Dictionary on DataBlocks and reports. The Data Dictionary must be configured by a MAPS administrator before it will provide information in Argos. DataBlock Designers can also disable the Data Dictionary from within the query design window.

Security

Clear - Clears any usernames and passwords that were stored on this machine for Argos. Individually stored credentials can be cleared at the login screen via the "Forget this user" option.
