Report Editor - Add Rich Text Field
This dialog box allows the user to add a Rich Text Field (RTF) to their banded report. The RTF editor acts like a very basic word processor. Users have the ability to add database fields and expressions to an RTF making it a great way to create letters. The RTF also has the ability to remove empty lines which can be helpful in creating address labels.
Note: Expressions embedded in text in Argos are surrounded by %%. For example, the expression ArgosData.Street_Line1 would appear in the text editor as %%ArgosData.Street_Line1%%. If you use the expression editor to add expressions, the %% will be added automatically.
You can configure the RTF using the following options:
- Alignment - Text can be aligned to the left or right, centered, or justified.
- Font - Set the font type, size and color for the text in the memo field.
- Background Color - Specifies the background color for the RTF area.
- Same as band - Uses the same color as the parent band.
- Autostretch height - This option is for report elements with multiple lines, e.g. memo fields. The height of the elements will be stretched to make room for all lines. If needed, the Report Band will be stretched too.
- Use band font - Uses the same font as the parent band.
