Groups
All individuals who will be accessing any of the MAPS applications must be added as a MAPS user, an LDAP user, or a member of an added LDAP group. Groups can be used to organize users into units to assist in setting up security within the applications. They are also a way of adding a subset of LDAP users without having to add them individually.
MAPS Groups
MAPS groups are collections of individual users who have been added to MAPS. These groups can contain a combination of individual MAPS and LDAP users.
LDAP Groups
LDAP groups are groups that exist on the LDAP server that have been added to MAPS. You can also add additional MAPS or individual LDAP users to an LDAP group within MAPS. Doing so does not add them to the LDAP group on the LDAP server, but does let you configure group security in MAPS for all of these users at the same time.
