Enhancements
Area | Description | Issue number |
---|---|---|
Banded reports | Added an option to justify text in RTF fields used in banded reports. Previously, text could only be aligned to the left or right, or centered within the RTF field. | AR-1403 |
Banded reports | In the banded report editor, the "create band" buttons now immediately insert a band of the specified type in the appropriate location, instead of requiring the user to click on the report to add the band. | AR-3903 |
Localization | When exporting text that includes extended ASCII characters from a multi-column list box in the Argos client, you now have the option to include a byte order mark in the output file. This will allow the data to display correctly in programs such as Microsoft Excel. When exporting data from a multi-column list box in the Web Viewer, the byte order mark is always included. | AR-1922 |
Searching | Moved the search feature in the Argos client from the Search tab into a search bar at the top of the screen. | AR-3730 |
User interface | Updated the "more information" links that appear in Argos when attempting to use a feature that your institution does not license so that the links point to the appropriate page on the new Evisions website. | AR-3787 |
User interface | In the Web Viewer, renamed the "Choose a Saved State" dialog to "Select a Saved Execution State" to match the corresponding dialog in the Argos client. | AR-3638 |
User interface | Added two checkboxes to the Tools -> Options dialog that allow users to disable animations and application styling within Argos. | AR-4071 |
User interface | The Argos client and Argos Web Viewer have been updated to have a more modern-looking user interface that is easy to navigate, with certain areas now scaling better on different screen sizes. Icons and styling have been updated throughout the application, along with many other usability improvements to the user interface. | AR-3759 |
User interface | Users who have custom user roles that include permissions from other user roles (i.e. a custom Report Viewer role that also has Edit Schedule permission) will no longer see unavailable actions that were previously grayed out for them. | AR-3733 |
Validation | When committing a DataBlock, Argos now checks for references to objects or variables that have been deleted, and allows the user to choose whether to remove the references or to ignore them. | AR-3286 |
Resolved Issues
Area | Description | Issue number |
---|---|---|
Charting | Line- and point-based charts in the Web Viewer were using 0 as the minimum value for the y axis regardless of the specified minimum value. This resulted in some charts appearing significantly different in the Web Viewer than they did in the Argos client. These charts now set the minimum value of the y axis based on the domain range. The minimum y value is still 0 for area charts, in order to display the correct area. | AR-3765 |
Charting | Labels for gauge charts in the Web Viewer were overlapping each other and difficult to read because they displayed more decimal points in the Web Viewer than they did in the Argos client. The arcs of gauge charts in the Web Viewer are now slightly wider and the extra decimal places no longer appear. | AR-3763 |
Dashboards | In Argos 4.5.x, using the values of a multi-column list box that contained numeric data to control the "Enabled" property of a dashboard object would result in an error when more than one value was selected in the list box. | AR-3626 |
Form design | Attempting to copy and paste a multi-column list box or to edit its SQL when the "Auto Size Column" field was set to something other than the default of '0' was resulting in an access violation. | AR-2132 |
Import/Export | When exporting a DataBlock that had a colon (:) in its name, Argos would create an empty file with no extension. Argos now converts any invalid characters to an underscore when exporting. | AR-3989 |
Import/Export | When importing Argos objects, if an object other than a folder was selected to import into, the import would fail with the error "An exception has occurred; XmlArgosImporter::CreateExplorerNodes". The import will now proceed, and the object(s) will be imported into the parent folder of the selected object. | AR-4042 |
Localization | Added Spanish, French, and Arabic translations for several areas that were missing them due to changes in version 4.6. | AR-3694 |
Revision Control | Attempting to change the active revision of a report that had a period in its name, or to import a report that had a period in its name when revision control was enabled, was resulting in the error "Report 'Report Name' does not exist". | AR-3709 |
Saved settings | In the Web Viewer, saved dashboard settings that were shared by other users were not appearing in alphabetical order as they should have been. | AR-3613 |
Saved states | In the Web Viewer, the option to run a dashboard or report live instead of loading a saved execution state was still available to users even if the DataBlock Designer had disabled it in the Argos client. | AR-3640 |
Scheduling | When testing a schedule, the schedule was running as the current user rather than as the Run As user if one was specified for the schedule. | AR-4051 |
Scheduling | Some schedules that used the bursting task were failing after the upgrade to Argos 4.6. | AR-3906 |
Searching | When searching within the Argos client, objects with "Web View" set to "No" were not being included in the search results. | AR-3630 |
Stability | In the banded report editor, deleting the root element in the object tree (the "Report" object) resulted in an access violation. | AR-3866 |
Stability | In the banded report editor, the root element in the object tree (the "Report" object) can no longer be renamed. Renaming the "Report" object had no effect on the report output and would cause an access violation when adding bands to the report. | AR-3901 |
User interface | In the extract report editor, the Move Up/Down and Add icons were showing the wrong images when they were disabled. | AR-3704 |
User interface | The Allow and Deny checkboxes in the Security dialog were misaligned on systems with the text size set to 125%. | AR-3916 |
MAPS
Enhancements
Area | Description | Issue number |
---|---|---|
Scheduling | MAPS Administrators can now designate a default "Run as" user for schedules, instead of needing to change the user for every schedule that is created. There is also an option to force all schedules to run as this user even if a different user was previously specified. | MAPS-1140 |
Security | Updated the OpenSSL .dll files packaged with MAPS to version 1.0.1r. | MAPS-1118 |
Server | Removed Windows Server 2003 from the list of supported operating systems. MAPS and the MAPS applications still work with Windows Server 2003; however, any institutions who are still using this version should be aware that Microsoft's extended support period ended on July 14, 2015 and we may therefore be unable to resolve issues with running MAPS on Server 2003 should they occur in the future. | MAPS-1103 |
Resolved Issues
Area | Description | Issue number |
---|---|---|
ADO connections | Improvements to the ADO connection dialog added in MAPS 4.5.0 inadvertently caused certain non-standard connection strings, such as the string required to connect to an LDAP server using the OLE DB Provider for Microsoft Directory Services, to no longer function. These connections will now work as intended. You are now also able to edit the connection string manually if desired. | MAPS-1075 |
Localization | After upgrading to Argos 4.6, users in certain timezones were receiving the error "The given '12/30/1899' local time is invalid (situated within the missing period prior to DST)" when attempting to launch Argos. | MAPS-1099 |
Security | When starting OpenSSL, MAPS was ignoring the specified OpenSSL cipher string. The cipher string is now used correctly. | MAPS-1098 |
Security | When performing a fresh installation of MAPS version 4.5.2, the default IP range was not being automatically created on the Universal Launcher screen. | MAPS-1135 |
Stability | The error "ConfiPipe.Stop() Access violation at address [########]" would sometimes occur when upgrading a MAPS application or would appear in the MAPS log file around the time of the nightly backup. | MAPS-904 |
eLauncher | Updated the security certificate used by MAPS, which had expired and was requiring clients who were using the Java launcher to either replace the certificate with a new one provided by Evisions, or to switch to using the Evisions Application Launcher. | MAPS-1131 |
